Charm Jump Ring And Clasp Finish Guide

This is a simple guide to the finishes and clasps available for our designer silver & gold charms.

We offer three standard fittings for our charms so they will fit a traditional style link charm bracelet, slide over a bead style bracelet such as most Pandora bracelets, or clip onto bracelets similar to Thomas Sabo allowing you to move them about on your bracelet.

Open Jump Ring

As standard all our charm come with an open jump ring unless ordered otherwise - this small gap in the jump ring allows you to attach them to a charm bracelet easily using a pair of pliers.
See the image below as an example on how to open your jump ring.
Don't open the link by pulling the jump ring apart in a side-to-side motion as this will distort and weaken the jump ring.  Open it in an up/down motion as shown in the image to keep the shape of the jump ring, then close it once in reverse it's on your bracelet.

Soldering Charms

We do recommend charms are soldered and can offer this as a service in the workshop, give us a call on 01273 569270.
Please note we are not able to solder charms not made by us unless we are sure they are solid silver and cannot be held liable for any damage to charms not made by us if you request we solder them for you.  We also cannot solder charms that are set with stones or enamel.

Soldered Jump Ring

If you're wanting to add our charms to a Pandora or similar style of bead bracelet then we recommend ordering your charm with a soldered jump ring.
We securely solder the jump ring closed so when you slide it over your necklace, bracelet or bangle it won't get pulled open.   Please check the end of your bracelet is not larger than 4mm in order for the charm to slide over the end.
Charms fixed to bead style bracelets are more prone to damage than traditional charm bracelets as they move about a lot more and can catch easier on clothing, so bear this in mind.  We can't be held responsible for any damage to charms due to how they are worn.

Clip On Clasps

This style of charm is often favoured by wearers of Thomas Sabo and similar charms - an opening lobster clasp that allows you to fix a charm to any spot on a bracelet and move it easily.
We solder the charm to the clasp for security.

Charms As A Necklace

We offer a service to make your charm into a necklace.  With this we solder a smaller pendant sized jump ring with a classic sterling silver spiga chain necklace in your choice of chain length.
The necklace has a secure lobster clasp and is hallmarked.

Create Me A Charm Bracelet

This is our most classic, everyday bracelet.  We make it in a standard size of 7.5" in length for a snug fit for an adult, and it can be adjusted by fastening the clasp at any point along the chain for younger girls or slimmer wrists.

We can make it in a longer length on request just get in touch on 01273 722110 to find out more.

This essential charm bracelet is the one we use for all our charms on the drop down menu 'create me a charm bracelet' as it's beautifully weighty, ideal for collecting a lot of charms and versatile in design for every day.
